Hello,
I have installed HI-tide and love it, and I have another eclipse platform and love it too.
The second have CDT version 4 and there is a lot of great features that are not included.
You could see them at http://help.eclipse.org/help33/index.jsp?topic=/org.eclipse.cdt.doc.user/concepts/cdt_c_whatsnew.htm
So my question is, How do I proceed to have CDT v4 ? Do I need a new version of eclipse with cdt 4 and them all htsoft plugin from hitide install.

We are in the process of upgrading HI-TIDE to contain Eclipse 3.3.1.1 and CDT 4.0.2. It release is scheduled for late February.
Unfortunately, due to the need for tight integration with CDT, HI-TIDE cannot be simply installed as a plugin into an Eclipse install. This is something we hope to address throughout 2008, but until then we will be trying to keep the included CDT & Eclipse close to the currently released versions.

Adding hardware support is extremely time and resource consuming and whilst the ultimate goal would be to support all hardware, that is not possible at the moment. More specifically support for the ICE2000 has not been scheduled for this year, beyond that, I can't say.

I understand hardware could be very hard to implement, and having a powerfull hardware that's not fully supported is another problem.
Another feature I could attempt is a checksum calculation on binaries, like MPLAB does.
Thanks.

Hi,
Have you another date for the release of this future version ? Because I could be very interrested by it
But I understand that it could be very difficult to implement it (that's why I'm waiting)

At the moment it is only available as part of the PIC32 compiler beta program. It will be made available for general use, supporting existing PIC compilers, when the beta period ends. This can vary (dependent on feedback) but should be some time late April (well that's my guess).

As we are several months past Feb, are there any updates on this?
As well as wanting CDT 4.x, there are other plugins that I want that require 3.3 eclipse, such as Mylan and Subclipse.
Cheers!

Due to some internal events this has been delayed. The new target is for a date prior to 13th June.
