HI-TECH C PRO for the PSoC Mixed-Signal Array v9.61 features:

Support for MAC hardware;
#pragma abs_address / end_abs_address behaviour is now fully compatible with Imagecraft-specific code;
The C library now includes routines to perform flash programming and reading using the system ROM SSC functions;
The RAM bank used for local variables and parameters may be changed (on chips with more than one RAM bank.);
Various improvements have been made in code generation resulting in smaller and faster code in many cases. These include: better register allocation, improvements in code generation for shifts, elimination of redundant bank selection instructions, and optimized argument evaluation order; and
New Lite mode (freeware) which is now the compilation technology within PSoC Express(TM).

If upgrading from version 9.60
IMPORTANT NOTE: The version number has changed from 9.60 to 9.61. This reflects several major changes in the compiler. This means that you should uninstall the existing compiler before installing V9.61. While it is possible to have both versions installed, PSoC Designer does not provide a mechanism to choose which version to use, and it will by default use the older version.

If after removal of 9.60 and installation of 9.61, PSoC Designer says it is unable to select the compiler or gives an error when trying to run the compiler, it may be that an old Windows Registry entry is still present. This key should be deleted from the registry if present:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HI-TECH Software\HCPSOC\pro\9.60

You will need a Windows .reg file to perform this deletion. Download and unzip the file then double-click the file del960.reg from Windows Explorer.
