No memory ranges specified for program space
      #58132 - Sat May 24 2008 03:56 PM

Hi
I am using 8051-C_9.01 demo version and I am getting the error "No memory ranges specified for program space"

I have searched the manual for the for this message and have not found it.

The command line is:

C:\HTSOFT\8051-C_9.01\bin\c51" --ide=hitide --chip=W77C32 --warn=lvl0 --asmlist --ram=default --rom=default,+0-ffff -N31 -Bs -M -L-preboot=ffe0h --opt=c_glob9,space,as_all "C:\APP\SST\SS_87\SS_87_SME_PH3\FW_AA\Hardware.obj" "C:\APP\SST\SS_87\SS_87_SME_PH3\FW_AA\Main.obj" "C:\APP\SST\SS_87\SS_87_SME_PH3\FW_AA\MMI.obj" "C:\APP\SST\SS_87\SS_87_SME_PH3\FW_AA\ScanPorts.obj" "C:\APP\SST\SS_87\SS_87_SME_PH3\FW_AA\RebootEtc.obj" -o"C:\APP\SST\SS_87\SS_87_SME_PH3\FW_AA\SS_87_Ph3.hex"

Please, if anyone has an idea of how to solve this issue, could they please post their ideas here.

Robert

It appears the problem is that the processor in use (W77C32) has not been explicitly given a 'ROM RANGE' by the compiler and in the demo version you cannot use --ROM

The (temporary) solution has been to select the generic 8051 in the HiTide project options and include the headers for the W77C32 rather than the standard '8051.h'
