Hi...
I'm new to ubuntu so i don't now many things but I'm asking for help because I'm trying to install hi-tide but i get an error that says no permission...son my questing is how to install it on ubuntu

You probably don't have write permission for wherever its trying to install itself; so install as normal user (not using sudo/root account) and specify the install directory as your home directory when it asks.
On the subject, installing Hi-Tide as root and using the default dir doesn't work for me - gives lots of errors when run. Looking at the files it seems there are lots with root read permission only. Why is this?

The permissions were being alter during packaging, this is now fixed in 3.15*.
* Which is uploading as I write this, it should be done by the time you read it.

Hello,
I have downloaded and installed hi-tide 3.15 in the default dir (as root) hi-tide and picc32 (9.60 lite version), but I cannot create a picc32 (nor picc18) project with the project wizard. The only available option is "HITECH C project"
hi-tide seems just like ignoring any compiler is installed...
Running hi-tide as root or not does not change anything.
I also tried installing hi-tide and picc32 without sudo, in my /home dir, hi-tide can be installed but the picc32 install fails right before it asks for a s/n.
Indeed, same thing, the only available option is "HITECH C project"
Is it a plug-in problem, me skipping a step of installation process or...?
Any Ideas?

Currently Hi-Tide does not support the picc32, though support will be available very soon. When creating a new project it will say 'HI-TECH C Project". Select this and you will get another menu and in here I believe you will find the pic18 selection.
